Karlo Maquinto (6-0-1, 4 KOs) passed away Friday at 10:17AM after being in comatose state for a wek.
The Maquinto-Costa fight was part of the undercard of the Dodie Boy Peñalosa Jr-Super James Singmanasak non-title boxing match held at the Recom Gym in Caloocan City. Maquinto suffered 2 knock downs in the first round but came back strong ending the fight in a majority draw.
Carlo was 21 years old. He was rushed to Far Eastern University Hospital in Quezon City late Saturday night after he collapsed and lost consciousness after his boxing match with flyweight Mark Joseph Costa.
