Sumatra Indonesia was hit by 6.1 Earthquake on April 20, 2012 USGS reported. The quake struck at 5:14 am (2314 GMT Friday) at a depth of about 34 kilometres (21 miles), 427 kilometres southwest of Banda Aceh on the northern tip of Sumatra. There were no immediate reports of damage.

Phivolcs said no aftershocks were expected. The quake occurred at 11:48 a.m. Its epicenter was located 13 kilometers northwest of the town of Calatagan. However, no casualties or damage was reported according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
