A 19th century Chinese merchant vessel has been found in the deep waters of Roxas City. This ship, which was used in ancient trade, still contains porcelain and other valuable artifacts which is also the target of looters. At a time when history is not on top of our priorities, can we really take care of this kind of treasure?

Leyte Sports Academy

In order to hone the skills of Filipino youth in sports, the Leyte Sports Academy in Tacloban City was established. With their curriculum in gymnastics, boxing, and swimming, students are not only trained to be future Philippine athletes, they are also hoping that this will be their ticket in earning scholarships in college!

This is a good move in honing Filipino athlete as the first step for them to achieve their Olympic Dream. Philippines go for Gold!

Filipinos are beggining to be recognized in the Fashion World.

In the recently concluded Pre-Oscar Party in America, Filipino fashion designer Oliver Tolentino once again proved the ingenuity of Filipinos. His designs were made of unique material such as pineapple, abaca, and Philippine silk. Meanwhile, the Philippine Textile Research Institute is also now promoting the use of saluyot, mague, and water hyacinth as material for their fabrics.

In the 40th Paraw Regatta Festival, colorful sails invaded the seas of Iloilo City! The festival's highlight was the sailcloth painting contest and the "paraw" or sailboat race! And because the weather has just started to get warm, the summer feel was perfect for the celebration and the festivities!
