A local government operation backed by the police to demolish stalls at a flea market in Parañaque City erupted in violence Monday as stall owners, residents, and their supporters threw rocks and home-made explosives at police.
ANC reported that Parañaque Mayor Bernabe on the Silverio Cmpd demolition said: Ang nag-expropriate niyan ay city gov't so may order ang korte na i-demolish yan
Bernabe: We'll relocate the residents later on the same site. Ayaw nila maniwala, nasusulsulan sila ng professional squatters & mga pulitiko.
