May 1 Labor Day- April 30 is Holiday in Philippines?

Will Tuesday, May 1, 2012, holiday be moved to April 30, Monday? Based on the list of Philippines' official public holidays this year, April 30, 2012 is a normal working as outlined in Proclamation No. 295.

In the administration of former President, Arroyo, a lot of regular and special non-working holidays were moved to either Monday or Friday in observance of Holiday Economics Law.

April 7, 2012 Black Saturday is Holiday in Philippines!

President Noynoy Aquino has declared April 7, 2012 a non-working day holiday.

“Our people must be given the full and uninterrupted opportunity to ponder on the significance of the Holy Week and to properly observe its traditions with religious fervor, without prejudice to public interest,” he said.

Holiday will continue until April 9 (Monday) in observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (Bataan Day).

In celebration of the EDSA Revolution Anniversary, February 25, 2012 is declared a Special Holiday for all Schools.

WHEREAS, the EDSA People Power Revolution, which restored and ushered political, social and economic reforms in the country, serves as an inspiration to Filipinos everywhere as a nation and as a people.

January 23, 2012 Holiday in Philippines

President Noynoy Aquino issued Proclamation 295 making January 23, 2012, which falls on a Monday as a a special non-working holiday as it marks the start of the Chinese New Year and the declaration “is a manifestation of our solidarity with our Chinese-Filipino brethren who have been part of our lives in many respects as a country and as a people” according to the statement released by Malacañang.

January 2, 2012 is Holiday in Philippines?

Based on the list of official public holidays in the Philippines in 2012 as outlined in Proclamation No. 295, January 1, Sunday (New Year’s Day) and January 23, Monday (Chinese New Year) are the only holidays for the month. January 2, 2012, the first Monday of the incoming year, is not a holiday.

Bonifacio Day on November 30, Holiday in PHL

As announced by Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte, Andres Bonifacio Day which falls on November 30, Wednesday, will not be moved on a Monday to give way to a long weekend.

Valte cited Proclamation No. 84 which states Bonifacio Day as a regular holiday, “I think it won’t be transferred to another date. When I checked the PresidentialProclamation on holidays, the celebration would really be on November 30,” she said.
