Engineering Course to shorten to Four Years- CHED

This is sort of good news, to parents and students. Commission on Higher Education (CHED) chairperson Patricia Licuanan said Friday, After the first batch of high school students graduate from the Department of Education’s new Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) program, some college programs will be shortened and first among these are engineering courses.

According to CHED estimates, some 322,000 students will enroll in engineering and technology programs for school year 2012-2013.

The country's colleges and universities produce about 48,000 to 49,000 engineering graduates yearly, CHED data show.

April 2012 PNP Entrance and Promotional Exam Results

The results for the April 2012 PNP Entrance and Promotional Examination will be posted here once it becomes available online.

On February 1, applicants for the Philippine National Police entrance and promotional exams scheduled on April 29, was given an access to the Online Exam Application Scheduling System (OLEASS) of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM).

Under the new system, applicants are required to utilize the on-line system to request the Napolcom regional offices for their schedule on the filing of examination application after which they will personally appear only at the date assigned to them, with their printed on-line confirmation letter and other required documents.

The period for on-line scheduling is on February 1 to 13, while February 14 to March 16 is set for the filing of application.

Summer Job for Pinoy on Expanded Government Internship Program (GIP)- Apply Now

Filipino Students, College Graduate and Graduate of Vocational courses may apply now for Summer Job for Expanded Government Internship Program (GIP).

Malacanang invited students, college graduates, graduates of vocational courses and out-of-school youths, to apply for summer jobs under the Expanded Government Internship Program (GIP), a Palace official said.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said in an interview aired over government-run radio station dzRB Radyo ng Bayan on Saturday said that GIP aims to help the students and the youths earn money for their enrollment this coming school year.

Interested applicants, aged 18 to 30 years old, can go to the nearest DSWD office nationwide and submit their applications together with a photocopy of their birth certificates.

The GIP is part of the Aquino administration’s efforts to strengthen youth participation in nation-building, expose them to government service, train them develop their skills that help contribute to their economic well-being.

Under the program, qualified applicants may start work immediately and has to complete 52 days of work.

The interns admitted into the program shall be provided with stipend commensurate to the applicable minimum wage in the region.

The qualified applicants can be assigned in the central office, or in the various field offices including centers/institutions. Interns will be asked to perform not only the actual office work but also to assist in the implementation of the numerous DSWD programs and projects.

PRC Iloilo On-The-Road Anew by PRC

PRC Iloilo is full-swing in its service delivery on-the-road again. Implemented as early as January 3 of this year, the three (3) teams alternately travel to various destinations in Region 6.

At the start of the year, “Team 1” spent five (5) days in Bacolod City, from January 3 to 7, to process applications for licensure examinations for Professional Teachers, Physicians, Criminologists, Mechanical Engineers and Certified Plant Mechanic, Real Estate Brokers and Midwives. Considering the enormity of clientele in Negros Occidental, “Team 2” revisited Bacolod City on February 15-17 to process applications for various transactions: licensure examinations; renewal of professional identification card (PIC); initial registration; and requests for certification of passing, report of rating and of good standing; license verification and validation; and authentication of PIC, Certificate of Registration or Board Certificate; and Report of Rating.

“Team 3”, on the other hand, spent three (3) days in Roxas City, at the Filamer Christian University (FCU) campus to deliver similar services, though with focus on processing of applications for the PNLE on June 30 and July 1, and Licensure Examination for Teachers or LET on September 30 this year. “Team” will revisit Bacolod City anew on April 18-20, 2012 for the big number of repeaters both in the PNLE and the LET, and deliver the same services in previous visits. Professionals who reside or are currently working in Kalibo, Aklan and other municipalities surrounding it may wait for “Team 2” on May 9 and 10 (and May 11, if need arises) in Kalibo. The venue is still being arranged.

The “PRC-Iloilo On-The-Road Program” was first designed in 2000 as an activity with budget allocation from the Commission to especially assist professional teachers in filing applications for registration without examination in accordance with Republic Act No. 7836, otherwise known as the Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994. Considering the thrust of empowering Local Government Units (LGUs), and the current program of President Aquino on PPP or the Public-Private-Partnerships, this program continues today in collaboration with LGUs, Accredited Professional Organizations (APOs), and NGOs and other groups, including the PRC-EMC or the PRC-Iloilo Employees’ Multi-purpose Cooperative.

The basic requirements and procedures on the flow of various services are printed and posted on tarpaulin banners/streamers and other forms of printed announcement at the venue. Career Service Professional and Sub-Professional on May 27

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is now accepting applications for the Career Service Professional and Sub-Professional written examinations to be conducted on May 27, the first for this year.

Applications are being accepted at CSC Regional and Field offices nationwide until April 12, 2012. However, the application period may be closed any time before said date once the CSC Regional/Field Office has reached its quota, the CSC warned.

UPCAT Results School Year 2012-2013

The list of incoming freshmen for Academic Year 2012-2013 who qualified entrance in the UP program was provided by name range, contained in 130 pages and in alphabetical order.

Aside from the official website, the passers list can also be accessed via three mirror sites, probably to prevent downtime due to the heavy influx of internet users searching for the UPCAT results [view here].

The National Police Commission on Monday announced that the first PNP entrance and promotional examinations in 2012 will be held on April 29.  The NAPOLCOM is expected to activate the following links for exam centers on February 1, 2012.
