University of the Philippines- UP Website hacked by 'Chinese' Supporters

UP Website hacked by 'Chinese' Hacker on April 20- Friday. 

Hackers claiming to come from China defaced the website of thePhilippines' top university on Friday to assert their country's claim over the hotly disputed South China Sea, the government said, AFP report.

We got a screen of the defaced website from affordablecebu.com of the website, www.up.edu.ph, showed a map with Chinese script that highlighted islands in the South China Sea that are claimed by the Philippines and China.

"We come from China! Huangyan Island is Ours," the map's caption read. Hackers successfully showed the South China Sea map that highlighted the Huangyan Island which they claimed.

Philippine Population for 2012 reached 92 million

While China has the largest population with 1.3 billion people followed by India with almost 1.2 billion people, Philippines hit more than 92 million people according to the latest survey from NSO. Meanwhile on GeoHive.com we are on Top 12 countries with largest population reaching an estimated population of 99 million. 

The NSO said that based on the 2010 Census of Population and Housing, the Philippines population, which is 92,337,852, is higher by 15.83 million compared to the 2000 population of 76.51 million. In 1990, the total population was 60.70 million.

"The Philippine population increased at the rate of 1.90 percent annually, on the average, during the period 2000-2010. This means that there were two persons added per year for every 100 persons in the population," the agency said.

Among the country’s 17 regions, Calabarzon (Region 4-A) had the largest population with 12.61 million, followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 11.86 million and Central Luzon (Region 3) with 10.14 million.
